The Over-the-Hill Gang
Looking to reform the corrupt government of his Old West town, newspaperman Jeff Rose is running for mayor against officeholder Nard Lundy (Edward Andrews). Jeff's campaign lacks the incumbent's muscle and money, and his quest looks hopeless until the arrival of his father-in-law, Capt. Oren Hayes (Pat O'Brien). The last job of Calvary Captain Nathan Brittles (John Wayne) before retirement is to soothe relations with the Cheyenne and Arapaho Indians after Custer's last stand. After both his missions stall, Brittles attempts a face-to-face meeting with an important Native American chief in order to stave off an impending war.
