After being fired from her beloved role as head coach of a first-class cheerleading team, Courteney Potter is ready to stage the ultimate comeback. Just one championship shy of becoming the winningest college cheer coach ever, she takes a new job in a small Southern town where she recruits a group of lovable misfits in the hopes of training them to become a competitive squad. The Buttons experience the cheerleading championships, competing on cheer's biggest stage; as the ragtag team attempts to win the title, they first must overcome not only Sammy Davis Senior Jr. College, but a surprising foe from Courtney's past.
S1, EP12 "Making Mat"
Courteney must cut one of her Buttons from making mat at Daytona; each of the team shares why Daytona is so important, but Courteney operates with her head over her heart and, after grueling tryouts, renders a heartbreaking decision.
S1, EP11 "Hildebünch"
Now that they've qualified for Daytona, Courtney must raise the money to get there and recruit new cheerleaders to give them a shot at winning; in order to do so, she must make a deal with the Buttonmeister himself, Augustus Schlimpf.
S1, EP10 "Finals Week"
Having missed cheer camp, the team must submit a skills tape in order to qualify for Daytona, but the headwinds are against Courtney, as making the tape falls right in the middle of finals week at Huddleston.
