Chicago P.D.'s Intelligence Unit, led by Sgt. Hank Voight, investigates the city's most formidable offenses -- drug trafficking, organized crime, high-profile murders and other large-scale felonies. The squad -- made up of Voight, Trudy Platt, Kim Burgess, Adam Ruzek, Kevin Atwater, Jay Halstead and Hailey Upton -- is committed to protecting the city and seeking truth, but in the midst of a changing criminal justice system, the team struggles to maintain peace in the community. Voight must learn to adapt to a shifting sociopolitical climate and embrace new tactics to crack down on crime in the city he loves.

As it awaits news of Halstead's fate, the team turns its attention to an illegal arms dealer; Atwater discovers his brother is in Chicago and could be tied to the case; Voight must deal with Halstead's shooter; Burgess makes her decision.

Voight teams up with an unlikely ally to take a killer off the streets while fighting to bring his Intelligence unit back together.

A homicide in the neighborhood where Burgess and Ruzek reside forces the team to investigate complicated relationships within the tight-knit community they call home.

A string of violent robberies across the city digs up one family's secrets; a surprising detail of Voight's past resurfaces.
